COLUMBUS, Ohio – With an open aggregate score of 6,389, the Ohio State pistol team defeated The Citadel (6,127) and VMI (3,996) Dec.1-2 at the Inouye Marksmanship Center in Charleston, S.C., to conclude the first half of the season with a 5-1 record.
Ohio State came away with wins in four of five events overall, tallying wins in both open aggregate and women’s aggregate to take the match.
Additionally, junior Joe Totts broke an individual away match score in standard pistol, scoring a 563 to take first place in the event.
In women’s competition, the Buckeyes won sport pistol over The Citadel by a score of 1,566 to 1,533 to overcome a 1,044 – 1,033 loss earlier in the day in air pistol. Ohio State totaled a score of 2,596 to win the women’s aggregate competition.
Junior Kim Hullings placed first in both women’s air pistol (357) and women’s sport pistol (552).
Ohio State has a brief break in action before returning to the range at the Camp Perry Open in Camp Perry, Ohio, Jan. 12-13.
