Blake Reburn won the open air title and the tied for the three-gun aggregate title at the Ohio Cup

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State pistol team opened the season by hosting the Ninth Annual Ohio Cup International Pistol Championships in Converse Hall. The competition included full teams from Ohio State and The Citadel and members of Purdue, Akron and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and local community shooters. In team competition, Ohio State defeated The Citadel, 6,419 to 6,015. Top shooters in the open events included OSU’s A.J. Tourigny with a 534 in free pistol, Robert Patton (unattached) with a 555 in standard pistol and Buckeye Blake Reburn with a 558 in air pistol. In the three-gun aggregate, Reburn and Patton tied for the title, shooting 1,613.
In the women’s events, OSU’s Kim Hullings posted a meet best 565 in women’s sport pistol with teammate Amanda Watters winning women’s air pistol with a 354. Hullings posted a winning 917 in the two-gun aggregate for the Buckeyes.
Ohio State returns to action, Oct. 21-22 when they host the U.S. Military Academy, the defending national collegiate champions.
