COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State pistol team hosted the Final Countdown individual pistol competition in preparation for the National Collegiate Championship in Columbus, Ga.
The Buckeyes swept the first three places in the three open events with junior Blake Reburn taking first in free, standard and air pistol with scores of 254, 532 and 549, respectively. Ohio State freshman Grayson McCaig claimed second in free (254) and standard (532) after losing both tiebreakers. Junior Jason Reineck earned third in free (242) and air (534). Freshman Jordan Akow took the runner-up spot in air at 539 and sophomore Kim Hullings was third in standard (526) to round out the three podium places in the open events.
In women's competition, Ohio State's Christina Heaton took air (349) followed by Hullings (340) and Akron's Mary Lee King (334). In sport pistol, Hullings took first place with a 547 followed by OSU's Mariah Skiles at 517 and Akron's King at 515.
