COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio State hosted a Collegiate Pistol Sectional event over the weekend, welcoming in Akron, Purdue and one competitor from Ashland. The Buckeyes topped Akron and Purdue for the second time within the last month, also hosting the same two squads Jan. 26-27.
In Open Competition, Ohio State recorded the top score in all three disciplines and accumulated a total score of 6,427. The Zips finished as runner-ups at 6,150; followed by the Boilermakers' 5,937 total. Ohio State dominance occurred in the Women Competition as well, garnering a 2,746 team total (Purdue 2,525; Akron 1,634).
Mike Soklaski contributed to the team tally in all three Open events, including a personal-best 542 Standard score. Freshman Emily Nothnagle recorded personal bests in Sport (528) and 2-gun aggregate (882) while Irina Andrianova crushed it in Air. Andrianova's 40-shot 375 and 60-shot 516 both represented new personal highs.
