Columbus, Ohio- The Ohio State fencing team will face Notre Dame Saturday at the French Field House with first bouts to begin at 9 a.m. This match between these two traditionally elite teams should produce fierce competition throughout the day.  

The match will begin with individual competition then break for lunch before resuming with team competition in the afternoon. A full schedule can be seen below.

In 2012, the Buckeyes gave a pair of wins to Notre Dame in an exhibition contest held at the Castellan Family Fencing Center in South Bend, Ind. The men's unit fell to the Fighting Irish, 60-37, while the Fighting Irish women's unit overtook the Buckeyes, 60-51.

Both squads earned a Top five finish in the 2013 NCAA Championship. Ohio State ranked fourth with 146 points, while Notre Dame garnered a second place finish with175 points. Seven fencers produced Top 10 finishes for the Buckeyes, highlighted by a first place finish from Marco Canevari in epee.  Notre Dame placed eight fencers in the Top 10 with Lee Kiefer (women's foil) and Courtney Hurley (women's epee) collecting first place honors.

The Buckeyes return to the strips on Nov. 8 to compete at the Division I Jr. NAC in Cleveland, Ohio. 

On October 12th
7:45 a.m.: Doors Open
9:00 a.m.: Bouts Begin Individual Competition
1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.: Lunch time
2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.: Team Competition
4:30 p.m.: Event should be concluded
