Boaz Ellis Inducted into Athletics Hall of Fame
COLUMBUS, Ohio- Boaz Ellis was one of 13 new inductees, including 11 student-athletes and two new coaches, for the Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2014 that was honored Friday.
Ellis fenced with Buckeyes from 2004 to 2006. The foilist is the first to win three individual NCAA titles since 1963 and was also a major contributor to Ohio State’s national title in 2004. He was three-time All-American, two-time Academic All-Big Ten and three-time OSU Scholar-Athlete honoree.
The Tzippori, Israel, native joined Israel’s national fencing team at the age of 16, winning the silver medal at the World Cup in 2000 and 2001. He is a five-time Israeli national champion.
