Dabrowa's performance was the best for the women Buckeyes at the event, hosted by Wayne State University.
The freshman from Poland used an 8-1 second round to advance to the final bout against Notre Dame's Ewa Nelip, where Dabrowa eked out a 5-4 victory to claim first. Classmate Caroline Piasecka finished 9-5 to take fourth in the epee category, followed by sophomore Tasha Domashovetz's 10th-place finish.
Sophomore Alison Miller set the pace for the Scarlet and Gray in sabre, collecting 11 wins to finish third. Junior Margarita Tschomakova claimed fifth following an eight-win showing. Senior Falencia Miller finished seventh with four wins in the second round, claiming eight total victories. Junior Emily Cheng rounded out the women's sabre group for Ohio State, coming in 10th with a pair of victories.
Three-time NCAA Championships participant Oksana Dmytruk earned bronze in foil after picking up six wins in the third round with a +4 indicator, finishing five touches behind Notre Dame's Hayley Reese, who finished second with a +9 indicator. Dmytruk ended the day with 14 total victories.
Junior Allison Henvick finished seventh for the Buckeyes with a 4-5 record in the third round. Freshman Fanni Ladoczki took 15th in the event.
The men will begin competition Sunday at 9 a.m. inside the Matthaei Center. The Buckeyes look to lock up the maximum 12 individual spots at the 2011 NCAA Championships, hosted by Ohio State March 24-27.
