COLUMBUS, Ohio The defending national champion Ohio State fencing team will send 12 fencers, the maximum allowed, to the 2009 NCAA Championships March 22-25 in State College, Pa., on the campus of Penn State University. Seven Buckeyes will be making their first appearance at the championships, including women’s sabre specialists Falencia Miller and Margarita Tschomakov, men’s sabreist Max Stearns, men’s foilist Colin Sutter, women’s epee specialist Miriam Baranov and men’s epee specialist Igor Tolkachev. Julia Tikhonova will fence this season in epee after competing at the 2007 championships in foil.
