COLUMBUS, Ohio- Freshman Alanna Goldie was honored by CollegeFencing360 as National Rookie of the Week and part of the Primetime Performers Weekly Honor Roll for her performance at the Northwestern Duals, Feb. 1.

Goldie finished 17-1 in Evanston, Ill., leading the No. 2 women’s foil unit. She lost her only bout to the No. 1 Princeton squad’s Eve Levin, 4-5. Her victories helped the Buckeye women’s foil unit toward a 6-1 record, including going undefeated in the first three rounds of competition.

Goldie joined the Ohio State fencing team after winter break and immediatley made her presence felt. Prior to the Northwestern Duals, the Calgary, Alberta native has competed in the St. John’s Invitational and NYU Invitational, finishing 16-2 and 10-5 respectively.

Goldie will join her fellow Buckeyes competing in the DeCicco Duals at the Castellan Family Fencing Center hosted by Notre Dame, Feb. 8.
