COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State fencing team will compete in Northwestern Duals, which will take place at the Castellan Family Fencing Center in South Bend, Ind. Ohio State will participate in the first day of competition on Saturday beginning at 8 a.m.
Ohio State’s women’s squad will face off against Penn, Princeton, Wayne State, Notre Dame, Stanford, UC San Diego, Duke and Penn State on Saturday. The men’s unit will dual against Duke, Princeton, Wayne State, Penn, Stanford, Notre Dame, and UC San Diego.
Nine other teams will compete in the tournament including Northwestern, Detroit-Mercy, Cleveland State, Lawrence, California Institute of Technology, North Carolina, Temple, Farleigh Dickinson, and Air Force.

The Buckeyes came out of last year’s Northwestern Duals victorious. The team combined for an 11-3 record, with the men’s squad earning a 5-1 record and the women’s squad ending with 6-2. Women’s foil had three undefeated duals, and the women’s epee unit had two.
Following Northwestern Duals, members of the fencing team will compete in the Junior Olympics in Cleveland, Ohio on Feb. 12-15. The Buckeyes will host the Midwest Fencing Championships on Feb. 27-28 in Columbus, Ohio.
