COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State fencing squad continues its 2011 schedule this weekend at the Notre Dame Duals in Notre Dame, Ind.

Over the weekend, the Buckeyes will face a wide range of competition including squads from Air Force, Cleveland State, Detroit, Florida, Lawrence, Northwestern, Swarthmore and Wayne State along with top-ranked host Fighting Irish.

The duals begin at 8 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday.

BUCKEYES TUSSLE AT NYU AND ST. JOHN'S INVITATIONALS
The Buckeyes traveled to New York, N.Y., Jan. 22-23 to take part in the NYU and St. John's invitationals. Ohio State wrapped up Saturday with a combined 9-3 record at NYU. The fifth-ranked men finished 4-2 on the day while the 10th-ranked women posted a 5-1 mark.

On Sunday, the Buckeyes commuted across town to St. John's where the squad tallied a 3-7 combined record. The men produced a 1-4 record, their sole win coming from a defeat of No. 8 Columbia. The women attained a 2-3 ledger, knocking off both No. 6 Columbia and No. 3 Harvard.

THE ROAD AHEAD
Following the duals this weekend, Ohio State will travel to Notre Dame, Ind., to compete in the Midwest Conference Championships March 5-6.

BUCKEYES SET TO HOST 2011 NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2011 NCAA Championships come to Columbus, Ohio, as Ohio State plays host to the tournament. The first bouts begin March 24 and continue through March 27 at French Field House and St. John Arena.

Ticket information will be released as it is made available.

The last time the Scarlet and Gray hosted the tournament (2008), the team clinched its third team title.

SURVEYING THE BUCKEYES' SUCCESS
Returning 2010 NCAA tournament participants for the Buckeyes include Bryan Cheney and Max Stearns (men's sabre), Igor Tolkachev and Marco Canevari (men's epee), Margarita Tschomakova and Alison Miller (women's sabre) and Oksana Dmytruk and Allison Henvick (women's foil).

Throughout the season, the Buckeyes have displayed their prowess on the strips in dual matches. Ohio State is 20-10 against varsity opponents, including a flawless 8-0 combined performance during the OSU duals, Nov. 6-7.

In addition, the Buckeyes have finished in the Top 5 at the NCAA Championships in eight of the past nine seasons.
