2013-14 (Freshman Season): Finished 20th at the Midwest Fencing Conference Championships...faced varsity competition at the Northwestern Duals and Notre Dame Duals...OSU Scholar Athlete.

Prior to Ohio State: Was captain and MVP for his high school fencing team in 2012 and 2013...two-year undefeated streak in high school from 2012 to 2013...competed with the Canadian National Team at the World Championships in 2012 and 2013.

Personal: Son of Margaret Hastings and Nick Grgas...father was team physician and surgeon for the Toronto Maple Leafs for over 20 years...has one brother David, 16...played soccer in high school...majoring in history...considering law school after graduation...goal is to be a Member of Parliament in Canada...enjoys politics and political theorization, very amateur philosophy, history, basketball, softball, video games, activisms debating, reading and learning...greatest sports thrill was out-cheering a full stadium of Puerto Rican fans before fencing their team at the Pan American games.
