Rob Norris joined The Ohio State University Department of Athletics in October 2012 as Director of Development. He is responsible for major gifts for all athletic priorities, including endowments and capital projects.
Norris comes to The Ohio State University from Ohio University where he served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Annual Giving. In this role, he managed all aspects of the Ohio Bobcat Club Annual Fund, premium seating for football and men's basketball, and assisted with major gift efforts for The Promise Lives Campaign. During his time in Athens, the Ohio Bobcat Club Annual Fund increased by 27% and saw its membership grow to record numbers.
Prior to his time in Athens, Norris spent three years working for UC Davis Athletics, serving as the Senior Public Events Manager after two years for UC Davis Campus Recreation as the Assistant Public Events Manager. He got his start in the sports industry through an internship with the Sacramento Rivercats (AAA affiliate of the Oakland A's) working in their corporate partnerships division.
Norris earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Davis in 2003 and Master of Business Administration/Master of Sports Administration degrees from Ohio University in 2010. He is joined in Columbus by his wife Chelsea and recently born son, Brady.
