Scott Nelson came to The Ohio State University Department of Athletics in March 2010 as director of development. He is responsible for major gifts for all athletic priorities, including endowments and capital projects.
Nelson previously served as Assistant Director of the Wooden Athletic Fund at the University of California, Los Angeles. In his time at UCLA, Nelson assisted in campaigning for the $100 million renovation of the Pauley Pavilion.
Nelson was also responsible for overseeing all 22 of UCLA's Olympic sport support groups, while concurrently facilitating all aspects of the Bruins' annual giving program.
Nelson is a native of Colusa, CA. He received his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Nelson then went on to earn his master of education degree in intercollegiate athletic leadership from the University of Washington.
Scott is engaged to be married this summer to Lindsey Prior. He currently resides in Columbus.
