Carlos Oseguera Named Director of Ohio State Athletics Fan Experience & Promotions

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Carlos Oseguera has been named director of Ohio State athletics fan experience & promotions, Diana Sabau, associate athletics director for external relations, announced Thursday.
Oseguera comes to Ohio State after more than a decade combined working for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League and Seattle Sounders FC of Major League Soccer.
In his most recent position with both organizations, Oseguera was the manager of fan development and game presentation. His duties included assisting in the coordination of Seahawks special events, consulting with the Seahawks marketing, ticket sales and corporate partnership departments and fan development director to execute events that met the Seahawks organizational goals. Additionally, Oseguera worked closely with the department vice president to fulfill and service corporate partnership programs. On game day, Oseguera oversaw on-field activation including entertainment, sponsorship and presentation elements.
In August 2009, Oseguera was hired as the Seahawks and Sounders FC’s Hispanic outreach manager. In that role, Oseguera managed the international and Hispanic outreach budget and established business development, community affairs and promotional opportunities targeted to the Hispanic community. Furthermore, he served as the SFC liaison to the Washington State Hispanic Chamber of commerce, the US-Mexico Chamber of Commerce, Hispanic Seafair, Liga Hispana and other organizations dedicated to business, social and political development in the Hispanic community. Additional responsibilities included creating Hispanic media partnerships promoting the Sounders FC community and business programs.
Oseguera became the coordinator for both the Seahawks and Sounders FC’s fan development and Hispanic outreach areas in July 2007. In these two roles, Oseguera developed programming to help drive revenue through special events, promotions and community activities. He oversaw all day-to-day operations including, sales, marketing, retention and membership services for the Seattle Seahawks Family Affinity program, while also managing the sales marketing, and renewal plan for the Seattle Seahawks Youth Affinity Program. In 2008, Oseguera helped increase the Seahawks Youth Affinity Program numbers by 35 percent.
In 2000, Oseguera began working for the Seahawks at their summer training camp as the marketing coordinator intern.
Oseguera graduated from Eastern Washington University in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and minored in sociology.
