COLUMBUS, Ohio - Seventy-nine Ohio State fall student-athletes have been named to the Academic All-Big Ten team, the Big Ten Conference announced Wednesday. The total is the most for Ohio State since recording 82 Academic All-Big Ten selections in 2010.
In all, 1,015 fall sport student-athletes were recognized across the conference from field hockey, football, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer and women's volleyball programs. To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letterwinners who are in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
