Columbus, Ohio - The Ohio State University went undefeated in athletic competition this weekend, compiling a 12-0-2 combined record in win/loss events. The Ohio State field hockey, football, women's ice hockey, women's soccer, men's and women's swimming and diving and women's volleyball teams all earned wins over their opponents throughout the course of the weekend.

The men's ice hockey team also earned a win this weekend, defeating Bowling Green, 1-0, in the first game of its series at the BGSU Ice Arena Friday night before rallying from a two-goal deficit en route to a 3-3 overtime tie with the Falcons on Saturday night.

The men's soccer team also battled back from a two-goal deficit in the second half, coming away with a 4-4 draw at Penn State Sunday afternoon to finalize the undefeated weekend for the Buckeyes.

Below are some highlights, additional information and final scores from the weekend's action.

No. 9 Football - Ohio State defeated Penn State at Beaver Stadium, 35-23, in front of an audience of 107,818 to remain undefeated on the season. The Buckeyes, now 9-0 overall and 5-0 in the Big Ten Conference, move into sole possession of the Big Ten lead in the Leaders Division. Head coach Urban Meyer improves to 9-0 in his first season as OSU head coach; the only other two first-year Ohio State coaches that have done so are Carol Widdoes (9-0) in 1944 and Earle Bruce (11-0) in 1979.

Additionally, sophomore quarterback Braxton Miller became just the third different Big Ten quarterback and the first Ohio State quarterback to rush for 1,000 yards in a season. Miller is also now in a tie for second-place on the Ohio State single-season rushing touchdown list by a quarterback after his two 1-yard touchdown runs in the third quarter. Miller is currently tied with Cornelius Greene who rushed for 12 in 1973.

No. 25 Women's Soccer - The Buckeyes closed out the regular season against Indiana on Friday night, defeating the Hoosiers, 5-0, to improve to 13-4-1 overall and 8-2-1 in Big Ten Conference play. Senior forward Tiffany Cameron had a record-setting night, breaking the Ohio State career goals record, previously held by Lisa Collison and Lara Dickenmann, in the 38th minute with her 36th career tally before adding another in the 55th minute.

No. 10 Women's Hockey - Ohio State opened its weekend series against Bemidji State with a 4-1 win over the Beavers at the OSU Ice Rink on Friday night before taking the ice and shattering records against Bemidji State in a dominating 10-1 win Saturday night. Ohio State set a new program record for goals in a game on Saturday night, with five goals scored in the second period. The Scarlet and Gray also broke the record for points in a game (28), assists in a game (18), assists in one period (9), and points in one period (14). In addition, the nine goal margin of victory was the highest ever for Ohio State. The Buckeyes are now 7-3-0 overall and 5-3-0 in WCHA play.

No. 20 Women's Volleyball  - The Buckeyes started the second half of Big Ten Conference play with a stunning upset of No. 4 Nebraska in Lincoln at the NU Coliseum Friday night, taking a 3-1 (25-21, 26-24, 19-25, 25-23) victory to earn the program's first win over the Huskers since the 1991 season. Ohio State then went on to capture a three-set sweep over Iowa (25-17, 26-24, 25-12) on the road Saturday night to improve to 17-7 overall and 8-4 in Big Ten Conference play.
