Athlete of the Week
Mari Hole, the Most Valuable Player of the Rocket Classic and Big Ten Player of the Week had 12 kills (.385), eight digs and four blocks (1-3) against Penn. She produced career-highs of 25.5 points and 21 kills (.232) against Alabama adding 11 digs five assit blocks and two ace serves. She reset her career highs for points (31.0) and kills (26, .316) against Toledo adding two ace serves and equaled her career highs of three solo blocks and 14 digs. Hole had set winning kills in five of nine Buckeye set wins. With the Toledo match tied at one set each, she scored kills for six of OSU's final seven points in the third set on her way to a 12-kill performance in the set.

No. 15 Football (2-0)
Head coach: Luke Fickell
• In a back-and-forth battle between in-state rivals, No. 15/15 Ohio State came from behind to down Toledo, 27-22, in front of a crowd of 105,016 Sept. 10 at Ohio Stadium. Joe Bauserman connected with tight end Jake Stoneburner for a touchdown for the fourth time in two games. Running back Carlos Hyde and wide receiver Chris Fields both netted their first career touchdowns in the win.

• Ohio State fell, 2-0, against No. 5 Syracuse Sept. 9 at Buckeye Varsity Field in the first game of the 2011 Buckeye Classic. The first 60 minutes of action went scoreless until the Orange posted two late goals in the second half.
• In the final game of the 2011 Buckeye Classic, Ohio State fell, 2-0, against No. 2 Old Dominion Sept. 11 at Buckeye Varsity Field. The Lady Monarchs posted two goals in the first half en route to the victory against the Buckeyes. Ohio State held an 11-9 advantage on shots and an 8-5 lead in penalty corners.

Men's Soccer (3-1-1)
Head coach: John Bluem
Sebastian Rivas scored the game-winner with less than five minutes remaining in regulation to lead Ohio State to a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Binghamton Sept. 11 at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. The Buckeyes extended their home unbeaten streak to 12 games.

No. 22 Women's Soccer (5-2-0)
Head coach: Lori Walker
• After two separate weather delays and nearly 110 minutes of play, Tiffany Cameron scored the game-winner with 49 seconds remaining to give No. 22 Ohio State a 1-0 victory over Ohio Sept. 11 at a soggy Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.

No. 25 Women's Volleyball (7-3)
Head coach: Geoff Carlston
• Ohio State opened play in the Rocket Classic in Toledo Sept. 9 with a 3-1 (25-20, 23-25, 25-13, 25-21) victory over Penn. OSU's Emily Danks posted career-highs of 25.5 points and 19 kills (.310) against the Quakers. She equaled her career-high of six aces against Penn and added one assist block. Mari Hole added 14.5 points with 12 kills (.385), a solo block and three assist blocks
• Ohio State, behind a career-high 25.5 points from Hole, defeated Alabama, 3-1 (18-25, 25-23, 26-24, 25-16) during the second round of the Rocket Classic, Sept. 10. Hole recorded a match-high 21 kills (.232), two ace serves and five assist blocks.
• The Buckeyes finished undefeated to win the Rocket Classic with a 3-1 (23-25, 25-21, 25-20, 27-25) win over host Toledo Sept. 10 in Toledo. Hole collected a match/career-high 31 points in the win with 26 kills (.316), two ace serves and three solo blocks.
