Athlete of the Week
- Ohio State women's soccer freshman Lindsay Agnew scored the game-winner in the 85th minute of the Buckeyes' 3-2 win over Morehead State Friday before tallying the equalizer in the 60th minute of the Buckeyes' 2-1 overtime victory over Eastern Michigan Sunday.

- The Buckeyes open the season Aug. 31 at the Dayton Flyer Invitational in Dayton, Ohio.

Women's Cross Country

- The Buckeyes open the season Aug. 31 at the Flyer 5k Challenge in Kettering, Ohio.

Field Hockey

- The Ohio State field hockey team claimed a 3-0 shutout vs. Miami in a preseason scrimmage Thursday afternoon at Buckeye Varsity Field. The Buckeyes claimed a goal in the first half before scoring two goals in the final 35 minutes of competition.
- Sophomore back Emma Royce scored the first goal on a corner at 11:58 with the assist from senior midfielder Maria Swartz and added to its lead when Swartz collected a goal following a rebound off a corner during the 57th minute.
- The Buckeyes collected their final goal after sophomore Annie VonderBrink scored in front of the cage following a nice set-up pass by freshman midfielder Paige Hamilton.
- Ohio State opens the 2013 campaign on the road Aug. 31 at Temple at the Conference Cup in Philadelphia, Pa.

- The Buckeyes open the 2013 season Saturday, Aug. 31 against Buffalo at Ohio Stadium at 12 p.m.

Men's Soccer
Head coach: John Bluem
- The Ohio State men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to seventh-ranked Notre Dame in preseason action Monday night at Alumni Stadium in South Bend, Ind.
- The Buckeyes used a pair of first-half goals to defeat IPFW, 2-0, in preseason action Aug. 20 on Bert L. & Iris S. Wolstein Field at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
- Ohio State finished with a 20-8 advantage in shots, including an 11-3 margin in the first half. Although they did not score in the second, the Buckeyes maintained possession for the bulk of the period, earning five of their six corners on the night.
- Ohio State dropped a 1-0 decision to West Virginia in a preseason exhibition Aug. 18 at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium in Morgantown, W. Va.
- Ohio State will open the regular season with the eighth annual Bert and Iris Wolstein Classic Aug. 30-Sept. 1 at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. Cincinnati will open the tournament by taking on Northern Illinois at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, followed by Ohio State vs. UNC Wilmington at 7:30 p.m. The Buckeyes and Bearcats will then swap opponents for Sunday action with UC taking the field at noon, followed by Ohio State at 2:30 p.m. Admission to the Wolstein Classic, and to all regular-season home games, is free.

Women's Soccer (2-0, 0-0 Big Ten)
Head coach: Lori Walker
- Behind Ellyn Gruber's game-winner in the 99th minute, the Ohio State women's soccer team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 2-1 overtime victory over Eastern Michigan Sunday evening at Bert L. & Iris S. Wolstein Field at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. With the win, the Buckeyes tie the program record 13-match unbeaten streak previously set in 2004.
- Gruber's goal, her second-career tally and second-career game-winner, came in the 99th minute when she finished from six yards into an empty net after Michela Pardiso's shot caromed off Eastern Michigan goalkeeper Megan McCabe.
- For the game, Ohio State outshot the Eagles 19-9, including 6-4 on goal, while holding a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.
- Ohio State opened its 2013 season with a 3-2 win over Morehead State Friday evening at Bert L. & Iris S. Wolstein Field at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. In doing so, the Buckeyes gave head coach Lori Walker her 200th career win with 187 of those coming at Ohio State.
- For the game, Ohio State outshot the Eagles, 18-5, and tallied eight corners to two for Morehead State.
- Ohio State hosts Pittsburgh at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Women's Volleyball
Head coach: Geoff Carlston
- The Ohio State women's volleyball team took a break from practice with its annual Scarlet and Gray scrimmage Saturday afternoon. Gray topped Scarlet 3-1 (21-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-23) with head coach Geoff Carlston switching up the teams in each set.
- Senior Kaitlyn Leary and junior Erin Sekinger totaled 16 kills apiece. Junior Anna Faul totaled 11 blocks (2s, 9a) and classmate Taylor Sherwin finished with 40 assists. Junior Alyssa Winner had 24 digs, while Leary had 15.
- The Buckeyes will open up their regular season at the NIU invitational in DeKalb, Ill., Aug. 30-31. The tournament will also feature Liberty, Green Bay and host Northern Illinois.
