COLUMBUS, Ohio - Gene Smith and several Buckeye student-athletes spoke Thursday morning at the Greater Columbus Sports Commission's Morning Sports Report at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.
Smith highlighted Ohio State's accomplishments both in competition and in the classroom during the 2013-14 season and looked ahead to the 2014-15 school year. Claire-Louise Bode and Catherine Shields of the two-time defending national champion rowing team and three-time national champion Logan Stieber of the wrestling team were also interviewed on stage and spoke of their many achievements as Buckeyes.
The Morning Sports Report, presented annually by the Greater Columbus Sports Commission, provides fans an inside look at Central Ohio's sports scene, featuring its teams, notable figures and upcoming events. This year the event celebrated the return of the Ohio High School Athletic Association State Football Championships to Ohio Stadium and Columbus in 2014 and the 2015 NHL All-Star Celebration hosted by the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena.
