Twenty-one Buckeyes Receive Degrees at Summer Commencement Sunday

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Twenty-one current and former Ohio State student-athletes received their degrees during Summer Commencement ceremonies Sunday afternoon at the Jerome Schottenstein Center.
The list includes student-athletes from 17 sports, including national champions and All-Americans.
Zain Shaito, the 2011-2012 Ohio State Male Athlete of the Year, will receive his degree in international studies. Shaito won the 2012 NCAA title in foil while helping the Buckeyes to a national championship. He represented Lebanon at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
Graduating with a degree in sport and leisure studies, Casandra “Hokey” Langan, a forward on the women’s hockey team, finished her career fifth on Ohio State’s all-time scoring list with 134 career points, fifth on the career goals list with 58 and fourth in career assists with 76. She was the 2009-10 WCHA Rookie of the Year and league scoring champion.
Two-time All-American Christienne Linton earns her degree in criminology. Linton starred as a member of the Buckeyes’ 4x100-meter relay team, collecting two Big Ten titles and First Team All-America honors in 2012. She also enjoyed success in the short hurdles and sprints, finishing third in the 60m dash at the 2012 Big Ten Outdoor Championships.
