Spring 2016 Student-Athlete Graduates

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Sunday, 147 current and former Ohio State student-athletes will receive their degree at spring semester commencement at noon in Ohio Stadium. The ceremony can be watched online HERE.

Among the graduates are national champions, Big Ten Medal of Honor winners and All-Americans.

Ashley Bauer, the 2015 OSU Female Athlete of the Year, also was named Big Ten Rower of the Year. A native of New Albany, Ohio, Bauer is a two-time NCAA champion and three-time Big Ten champion as a member of the First Varsity Eight. Bauer also was named 2015 Big Ten Athlete of the Year in addition to garnering a pair of All-Big Ten selections.

Antonio Blanks, is a three-time first team All-American, four-time second team All-American and two-time honorable mention All-American for the Ohio State men's track and field team. In addition, the native of Dayton, Ohio, is a two-time Big Ten champion and three-time All-Big Ten pick.

Two-time Academic All-American and National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete Jacoby Boren leads a contingent of football Buckeyes crowned 2014 national champions receiving their degrees. Boren was a four-year letterman and a 28-game starter for the team. His degree is in sustainable plant systems.

Boren's linemate, Pat Elflein, is a 29-game starter who is completing his fourth year with the program but will return this season for his final year of eligibility. The communications major has already been named one of the team's captains by head coach Urban Meyer.

Curtis Grant, a captain on the 2014 national championship team, graduates with his degree in sociology. Grant started 30 games and accumulated 131 tackles in his career.

Zach Mason was he 2015 Senior CLASS Award® winner in men's soccer. As a standout midfielder and two-time team captain, Mason guided the Buckeyes to their fourth Big Ten title and NCAA Sweet 16 appearance. Never missing a start in his four years in Columbus with 82 career nods, Mason earned Big Ten All-Tournament Team honors this season after being part of a Buckeye unit that earned 10 clean sheets to lead the Big Ten. En route to a bachelor's degree in operations management, Mason earned three Academic All-Big Ten and OSU Scholar-Athlete honors, two Big Ten Distinguished Scholar nods and one NSCAA All-East Scholar recognition.

Drew Moling, from Canal Winchester, Ohio, earned All-America honors on rings for the Ohio State men's gymnastics team in 2015. A two-time team captain for the Buckeyes, Moling, a sport and leisure studies major, was a 2015 first team All-Big Ten selection and two-time winner of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.

J.C. Murasky, another member of the Ohio State track and field team, is the 2016 Big Ten shot put champion and an NCAA bronze medalist. Murasky, from Zanesville, Ohio, and a communication major, is a two-time first team All-American and a two-time All-Big Ten selection while earning Academic All-Big Ten and OSU Scholar-Athlete laurels.

Holly Norton, from Johannesburg, South Africa, is another two-time NCAA champion and three-time Big Ten champion as a member of the First Varsity Eight. A three-time All-Big Ten pick, Norton, a psychology major, is a world silver medalist with Great Britain.

Catherine Shields, an air transportation major, is a three-time NCAA champion and three-time Big Ten champion as a member of the First Varsity Eight and Second Varsity Eight. A native of Rangiora, New Zealand, Shields was awarded the 2016 Big Ten Medal of Honor in addition to 2014 Ohio State Female Athlete of the Year and Big Ten Rower of the Year laurels and 2013 Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors.
