Ohio State’s home competitions take place in St. John Arena and four Buckeye matches will occur in the storied venue in 2013-14. The 93rd year of Buckeye wrestling will open with a home match vs. Notre Dame College Nov. 15. The Scarlet and Gray subsequently will host Nebraska Jan. 24, Michigan Jan. 31 and Virginia Tech Feb. 23.

After Buckeye fans set a record attendance of 5,341 in 2008 vs. Michigan, the Tom Ryan-led Ohio State program set another impressive record as 6,518 fans packed the arena in a match vs. Big Ten Conference rival Penn State Feb. 10, 2013.

In 2014, Ohio State will host the always much anticipated NWCA National Duals. St. John Arena will be the sought-after destination for the two-day tournament that will run Feb. 16-17. St. John Arena hosted the National Duals in 2002 and 2003 and during both years, nearly 8,000 fans attended as the Buckeyes claimed Top 4 finishes in each event. The NWCA National Duals will be just one of many prominent events the Buckeyes will host as they are slated to host the 2015 Big Ten Championships.

Previously, Ohio State hosted the prestigious NWCA All-Star Classic presented by the United States Marine Corps in 2008. St. John Arena also served as host of the 2004 Big Ten Championships for the second time in its history.

Formerly the home of Ohio State basketball for 42 seasons, St. John Arena is the permanent venue for the Buckeye men’s and women’s gymnastics and men’s and women’s volleyball teams.

Completed in November of 1956 at a cost of less than $4,000,000, the 13,276-seat structure is named for former Ohio State basketball coach and athletic director, L.W. St. John.
