Requests for Donation
The Ohio State University Department of Athletics receives hundreds of donation requests from a variety of organizations, fundraisers, schools and individuals every year. We wish it were possible to honor each and every one of these requests, since many are very worthwhile causes. However, due to several factors including NCAA legislation, the increased unauthorized use and sale of autographed items, and the volume of requests, the athletic department has followed suit of many universities across the country and instituted guidelines for obtaining autographs to be used for fundraisers.
Due to the volume of requests, the Head Football Coach will sign a limited supply of footballs each fiscal year (July 1-June 30) on a first-come-first-serve basis. The cost of the item(s) includes a ball provided and signed by Ohio State and covers the cost of shipping (for non-institutional groups) via UPS. All requests submitted with payment are NOT guaranteed to be fulfilled. Requests not fulfilled will have their application returned and will receive a full refund.
Please follow the guidelines below for donation requests. Any request that does not include a donation request form, documentation proving tax-exempt or 501(c)(3) status, and a payment for the appropriate amount will be denied and returned to the sender.
Proceeds from the signed footballs will not benefit the Head Football Coach. Specifically, half of the proceeds will be donated to the Ohio State James Cancer Center and the remaining proceeds from the sale of the footballs will be used to support student-athlete initiatives.
