CAMP DESCRIPTION

Reaching your full potential as an outstanding fencer can be greatly enhanced by working with our coaching staff who are committed to the development of each camper’s fencing skills. Through instruction by these world-class fencers, campers will develop the footwork, tactics and conditioning necessary to improve their fencing skills. Individual lessons, drills and bouting will be featured throughout the camp. Our low camper-to-coach ratio promotes quality instruction and individual attention.

VLADIMIR NAZLYMOV | HEAD COACH
In his first 16 seasons as the Ohio State Head Fencing Coach, Nazlymov owns a men's and women's combined record of 414-97 (.810) and has won three National Championships, eight (of the past ten) Midwest Conference Championships, and has coached two Olympic Silver medalists. As a fencer, he has won three Olympic Gold medals, 10 World Championship titles, and was twice named by the FIE as "Fencer of the Year."

ALEKSANDR SMERDIN | ASSISTANT COACH

ENROLLMENT
The fee for sessions I - III is $489 for day campers or $789 for overnight campers per session. The fee for session IV is be $244.5 for day campers or $394.5 for overnight campers. The overnight option is only available for sessions III & IV. Each camp is open to any and all ages 8 & up. The overnight option is only available for campers entering grades 5 and up in the fall of 2018. Full payment is required at the time of online registration. You may register online by visiting OhioStateBuckeyes.com/camps. A 3% processing fee will be added to all online registrations. If registering by mail, please make your check payable to The Ohio State University. Any non-scholastic group of 5 or more that wishes to pay with one check for the entire group must do so ahead of time via mail. Any non-scholastic organization with a group of 5 or more registering the day of the camp must pay with credit card, cash, or money order. No exceptions will be made.

DISCOUNTS
Campers who enroll in more than one session are eligible to receive a discounted rate of $50 off per camper, per additional session after the first session is paid in full. Groups of 10-19 campers are eligible to receive a discounted group rate of $50 off per camper. Groups of 20+ campers are eligible to receive a discounted group rate of $100 off per camper. If registering as a group, all registrations must be submitted together, along with payment, by mail. Discounts are not available online. A pro-rated rate of $100 per day is available (without overnight accommodations). For more information on pro-rated rates, please contact the camp office at 614-247-2267.

PARENT CONSENT & WAIVER FORM
The Parent Consent, Waiver & Release Form AND the Concussion Information Form are REQUIRED for all participants. Please visit OhioStateBuckeyes.com/camps to obtain these forms. Please complete, sign and send the forms with your child to check-in - do not send the forms to us prior to the date of camp. Athletes will not be permitted to participate without these forms.

EQUIPMENT
All campers are responsible for bringing their own equipment, including electronic equipment. No equipment will be provided to ANY camper.

MEALS & HOUSING
All overnight campers will be housed in air conditioned dorms on The Ohio State University campus. All meals will be provided for overnight campers For day campers, lunch will be provided.

CONFIRMATION
Upon processing of each registration, a confirmation notice will be sent by email. A packet of "Important Information for Registered Campers" (including the Parent Consent & Waiver Form and Concussion Information Form) will be posted online at OhioStateBuckeyes.com/camps at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the camp. This packet will not be separately mailed to campers.

Please check your email regularly, as this is our primary method of communication with campers and their parents.

REFUNDS
A refund less a $50 administrative fee (per session) will be issued for any cancellation received by at least 2 weeks prior to the start of each camp session. The administrative fee and the 3% online processing fee are not refundable for ANY reason.

Because we have to guarantee our number of campers in order to prepare for camp, any cancellation received less than 2 weeks prior to the start of each camp session will not be eligible for any refund except in the case of injury, illness, or mandatory school event, in which case supporting documentation from a doctor or school is required.

A camp fee may not be transferred to any other Ohio State sports camp. A camp fee may not be transferred to any other camper. All cancellation notices must be received by the deadline above and submitted by mail, email, or fax - no phone calls or voicemails. All supporting documentation required for a refund to be approved and processed must be submitted within 10 days after the conclusion of the camp session. Refund requests must be submitted on the Refund Request Form available at OhioStateBuckeyes.com/camps. Campers who are injured while at camp but remain at camp will not be eligible for any refund.

By registering for a Buckeye Sports Camp, I authorize employees or agents of the Department of Athletics to record and edit into video/photograph the name, likeness, image and voice of this camper and to use all or parts of the video/photograph in print and electronic materials for the Department to illustrate and promote the Department, Buckeye Sports Camps and/or The Ohio State University and for no other purpose.

It is not permissible for boosters to provide expenses for individuals to attend any camps by the Ohio State Department of Athletics. Expenses include but are not limited to: lodging, meals, transportation, and/or camp registration fees.
