Buckeyes Defeat Missouri State and Texas A&M in Open Events

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State (open record 5-0) pistol team won victories over Missouri State and Texas A&M at the Texas A&M Fall Invitational last weekend. The Buckeyes won the open title with a 6,131 team score. Texas A&M finished second at 6,108 and Missouri State was third at 5,669. OSU won only one of the three open events, taking first in free pistol with a 1,952 score. Texas A&M was second at 1,911 with Missouri State third at 1,804. The victory was enough to overcome Aggie wins in standard (Texas A&M 2,091, OSU 2,083) and air pistol (Texas A&M 2,106, OSU 2,096).

Ohio State's Kelsey Imig finished first in two of the three open events, winning standard (529) and air pistol (537). Matthew Rottler was first in free pistol (516) for Missouri State. Buckeye Blake Reburn, II finished second in free (509) and air pistol (533).

The OSU women's squad (3-0) defeated Texas A&M, 2,641 to 2,502. The Buckeyes won both events taking air pistol, 1,052 to 968 and sport pistol, 1,589 to 1,534. OSU's Imig won both individual events shooting a 358 in air and a 537 in sport pistol. Erin Meadows, with a 353 in air and a 527 in sport pistol was second in both events. Nabila Sayed was third in air (341) and tied for third in sport (525) pistol.

The Buckeyes return home this weekend to host North Georgia and Akron at 9 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 21.
