NCAA championships runner-up at 133 pounds (March 19-21); faced Michigan State's Franklin Gomez in the final in a rematch of the Big Ten championships final; Humphrey defeated the Nos. 6 and 10 seeds as the No. 2 seed to earn berth into the national final ... Big Ten championships runner-up (March 7-8); as fifth seed, beat the Nos. 4 and 1 seeds en route to final against No. 2-seed Gomez ... beginning season No. 9 in the InterMat/NWCA/NWMA Division I Individual Preseason Rankings, moved up to top spot (Jan. 27) after compiling 19-0 record, including 10-0 dual mark ... completed season with 30-4 overall record and 14-2 dual ledger, which included a 4-2 mark in the Big Ten ... first loss of season came at the hands of Minnesota's Jayson Ness, a 5-0 decision (Feb. 1), while his second loss of regular season was a 4-3 decision to third-ranked Jimmy Kennedy of Illinois (Feb. 15) ... named Big Ten co-Wrestler of the Week (Nov. 4) after beginning season with a title at the Buffalo Open (Nov. 2) ... following week, was crowned Wolfpack Open champion (Nov. 9) ... went 2-0 at Buckeye Duals (Nov. 16), recording a pair of falls in a total time of 7:14 against Notre Dame College's Paul Rose (3:27) and Cleveland State's Josh Palivoda (3:47) ... against No. 6 Joe Baker of Navy was a featured bout at the 43rd Annual NWCA All-Star Classic Presented by the United States Marine Corps (Nov. 24) ... dropped a 5-1 decision to Baker ... in a road match at Edinboro, was the lone Buckeye to score bonus points with a 14-6 major decision against Ricky Deubel ... went 5-0 at NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa, (Jan. 10-11), including wins over Top 20 opponents, No. 17 Mike Grey of Cornell, No. 2 Andrew Hoshstrasser of Boise State and No. 4 Jayson Ness of Minnesota ... earned Most Outstanding Wrestler for the 133-pound weight class at National Duals ... other Top 20 victories included wins over No. 12 Dan Mitcheff (Kent State), No. 9 Lou Ruggirello (Hofstra) and No. 9 Jake Strayer (Penn State).

Summer 2008 - Won silver medal for the U.S. freestyle team at University World Championships in Thessoloniki, Greece ... competing at 60 kg/132 pounds, knocked off past Junior World champion Kaziev of Russia in first match en route to finals.

2007-08 (Sophomore Season) - 2008 NCAA Championships (March 20-22) marked second appearance at nationals following seventh-place finish as the seventh-seed in Big Ten championships (March 8-9) ... at NCAA championships, nearly pulled off what could have been deemed the upset of the championships; facing No. 1-seed Franklin Gomez of Michigan State; took Gomez to six tiebreakers in 5-4 loss based on four seconds of riding time ... during regular season, with Buckeyes down 15-13, entered match against Michigan's Chris Diehl with Ohio State victory on the line (Feb. 10); after defeating Diehl, 7-2, Buckeyes posted their first win (16-15) against Michigan in 14 seasons ... also defeated No. 1-ranked wrestler in the nation at Las Vegas Invitational (Nov. 30-Dec. 1); for the chance to compete for third place, pinned No. 1 Louie Ruggirello in 7:53 and went on to finish third in the event after beating Filip Novachkov, 6-4 ... at 2008 NWCA Cliff Keen National Duals (Jan. 12-13), recorded an impressive 4-1 record, compiling three major decisions and a decision ... completed Big Ten regular season with 3-4 mark, but 6-2 win over Tim Haas of Penn State in Columbus (Jan. 25) was monumental in helping Buckeyes rally from nine-point deficit on two separate occasions; with just one bout to go, posted win against Haas to pull Ohio State within three points; victory set up the pin by former teammate J Jaggers in the next match at 141 pounds and propelled Buckeyes to a 22-19 victory.

2006-07 (RS-Sophomore Season)

2005-06 (Freshman Season) - Competed in 2006 NCAA Championships (March 16-18) after being named second alternate ... finished eighth at Big Ten championships (March 4-5) ... 26 wins was a tie for first on the team among starters and was first on the squad in takedowns (78) and major decisions during regular season ... put up third-place effort in Michigan State Open (Nov. 12-13) in first action as a Buckeye and followed that performance with a fourth-place finish at Southern Scuffle (Dec. 29-30) ... recorded three consecutive dual meet wins, including two major decisions between Jan. 5-7 vs. Pitt, Kent State and Cleveland State ... began run by shutting out Mike Ciotti of Pittsburgh, 5-0, and went on to knock off Drew Opfer of Kent State, 11-2, and David Armstrong of Cleveland State, 13-4 ... went 3-1 at Virginia Duals, recording a fall, major decision and a decision and compiled a 2-1 record between Jan. 20-22, coming away with wins against Virginia's Eric Albright, 6-1, and Daniel Moran of Virginia Tech, 13-1.

Lawrence North - Three-time individual state champion between 2003-05 and owned 177-7 career record at Lawrence North as four-year letterwinner ... helped lead Wildcats to two team state championships in 2004 and 2005 ... FILA freestyle national champion and Asics Vaughn Greco-Roman national champion, Asics Vaughn freestyle national runner-up in 2005.

Personal - Son of Jim and Adrienne and has one brother, Jordin ... Jim was an Ohio State wrestler between 1971-72 and was a Big Ten individual champion in 1972 ... Jim also placed second at the World Wrestling championships in 1979 and was a U.S. and Canadian Olympic coach ... lists greatest sports thrill as winning the FILA Nationals during his junior year in high school ... plans to coach and teach following graduation from Ohio State.

The department is committed to providing its more than 1,000 student-athletes with the finest in academic and athletics support in order to ensure a quality and life-enhancing experience. The Department of Athletics is completely self-supporting and receives no university monies, tax dollars or student fees. In Fiscal Year 2009-10, the Department of Athletics will transfer back to the University more than $29 million in assessments, including $14.5 million in grant-in-aid costs.
