James Clark finished 40th in air rifle at the NCAA Rifle Championships

COLUMBUS, OhioOhio State’s James Clark (Fr., Woburn, Mass.) finished 40th at the NCAA Air Rifle Championship Saturday, scoring a 571. The event was held at Christl Arena in West Point, N.Y. He qualified for the championship as an individual in the NCAA Qualifier, Feb. 14-16 hosted by Ohio State. Patrick Sartz of Alaska-Fairbanks won the event with a 696.4 after the championship round.

 

Clark was the top individual scorer in air rifle at the Western Intercollegiate Rifle Conference Championships, shooting a 390. He received first team WIRC All-Conference honors in both air rifle and smallbore rifle.

 

Army’s Chris Abalo won the smallbore rifle championship, scoring a 687.6 after the championship round. The team championship was won by Alaska Fairbanks with a 4,662. Army finished second at 4,652.
