2010 Overview: A second-team All-Big Ten selection his first season as a Buckeye in 2009 after transferring from Fullerton (Calif.) College, Michael proved to be one of the most dependable and talented hitters on the team. The Buckeyes' starter in centerfield led the team in home runs (14) and slugging percentage (.608) in addition to stealing 10 bases. Stephens got hot when it mattered most, batting .385 with two home runs, nine runs batted in and seven runs scored in seven postseason games.

2009 (Junior): One of three Buckeyes to start all 61 games ... named second-team All-Big Ten ... a mainstay in centerfield and the No. 3 spot in the lineup, tied for third on the team with a .346 batting average ... ranked second in the Big Ten in triples (5), third in runs scored (61) and total bases (144), and fourth in RBI (63) ... led the Buckeyes with 14 home runs and a .608 slugging percentage and 10 three-hit games ... second on the team with 27 multi-hit games and 16 multiple RBI games ... had a 13-game hit streak from 2/22-3/15 then started a 10-game streak two games later (3/21-4/1) ... batted .500 (8-for-16) with two home runs, four RBI and four runs scored in the Palm Beach Classic ... hit .400 (8-for-20) with three doubles, a triple and six runs scored on the Buckeyes' spring break trip ... batted .385 (5-for-13) with seven RBI in the Penn State series ... had a pair of triples against Purdue (G3) ... also hit .385 (5-for-13) with five runs scored against Northwestern ... went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI and a run scored against Minnesota in the Big Ten Tournament ... named to the all-tournament team at the Tallahassee Regional after hitting .462 (6-for-13) with a pair of home runs, five RBI and five runs scored.

Fullerton College/Victor Valley H.S.: A 2008 junior college All-American at Fullerton (Calif.) College ... hit .435 with 72 hits, 51 RBI, five home runs and 17 doubles last season as a sophomore... hit .289 with three home runs and 25 RBI as a freshman in 2007 ... four-year starter in high school for the Victor Valley Jack Rabbits.... 2005 and 2006 all-area selection and member of the Dodger Elite Team in 2005... team was Desert Sky League champions in 2003, 2005, and 2006 ... played basektball for three years and one year of football ... named to school academic honor roll all four years of high school.
