2010 Overview: The Buckeyes' leader in wins with 12 in 2009, Rucinski responds whenever he is called upon, ranking second on the team with 36 appearances. "Boomer" - his nickname since Oklahoma - has the versatility to come out of the bullpen or start if need be in what will be his third season as a key member of the Buckeye pitching staff. Rucinski has shown a knack for getting the big punch-out when it's needed, striking out 62 batters in 2009, good for third on the team.

2009 (Sophomore): Made 36 appearances, all out of the bullpen ... named Academic All-Big Ten Conference and an OSU Scholar-Athlete ... tied for fifth in the country and tops in the Big Ten with 12 wins ... second in the Big Ten in appearances ... third on the team with a 5.54 ERA and ranked fourth with 74.2 innings pitched ... led the team with three pickoffs and third on the team with 62 strikeouts ... 4-0 in Big Ten play ... named Big Ten Conference Pitcher of the Week (2/23) and to the BIG EAST/Big Ten Challenge All-Tournament Team after going 1-0 throwing 6.1 shutout innings ... picked up a pair of wins in the Kennel Club Classic including one against North Florida in which he went 3.2 innings, his longest outing of the year, punching out five ... threw 5.2 innings, striking out eight in two appearances in the RussMatt Invitational ... pitched 2.2 shutout innings against SIU Edwardsville ... threw 3.0 shutout innings in the Buckeyes' one-hit masterpiece against then-No. 1 Miami ... went 2.1 shutout innings, striking out three against Michigan (G2) ... picked up the win in all three of the Buckeyes' postseason victories.

2008 (Freshman): Ranked third on the staff in appearances with 15 and his 10 walks allowed in 29.1 innings pitched was the lowest among all Buckeyes ... picked up a win in his first collegiate game, pitching 4.0 innings in relief in a 6-5 win over Seton Hall ... gave up just three hits, no earned runs, walked none and struck out two Pirates ... struck out three in 1.1 innings vs. Louisiana Tech in his second outing ... picked up the save against Dartmouth, pitching 2.2 innings, scattering three hits, striking out two and allowing no runs ... pitched 3.0 innings of one-run relief vs. Central Michigan ... lasted four innings and allowed three runs in first collegiate start, vs. Akron.

Union H.S.: A three-year starter and four-year letterman ... was named first-team all-state as a senior ... was also an all-Frontier Valley Conference selection ... team was 28-6 his senior year ... finished senior year with an 8-2 record and a 1.57 ERA in 71 innings pitched ... team was Oklahoma 6A state champs his sophomore and junior years ... played summers for the Midwest Nationals of the Premier League ... lists being the winning pitcher in the 2006 Oklahoma 6A championship game as his greatest sports experience.

Personal: Drew is the son of Jim and Brenda Rucinski ... has one sister, Allison ... loves the outdoors, like many Buckeyes, especially fishing and hunting.
