Kalafatis on Bodeker: “Lindsay was a tremendous loss to us at the start of the Big Ten season last year. The pitching mix of her, Reeder and Miller was a terrific one and when she went down, our team just wasn’t the same. The good news is that Bo is back healthy and is still a sophomore so I don’t expect to see any reason why she won’t be a big part in our pitching staff being amongst the best in the conference this year.”

At a glance: In her second season with Ohio State after transferring from Akron ... while with Zips, beat Ohio State May 2, 2007, in Akron when she tossed a five-strikeout, four-hit complete game ... was high school and club ball (Miami Valley Xpress) teammates with OSU junior outfielder Leah Ledford and sophomore catcher/third baseman Rachael Shepherd.

As a sophomore in 2008: 6-2, 1.23 ERA, 46 K, 45.2 IP, 3 shutouts ... won first 3 starts of the season (all complete games) and was keeping pace with Kim Reeder for team lead in several categories before first injury Feb. 24 in Palm Springs ... 4 complete games in 8 starts ... threw 3.0 innings of shutout relief 3/21 to earn win over Bowling Green ... had missed previous 2 weeks (10 games) because of leg injury suffered Feb. 24 vs. Fordham in Palm Springs.

Prior to Ohio State: Earned the win in 12 of Akron’s 17 victories in 2007 ... went 12-16 overall with a 2.02 ERA and 119 strikeouts in 166.1 innings ... her inning total was three times higher than the next pitcher on the staff ... led Lakota West H.S. to the Ohio ‘Final Four’ in 2005 and 2006 (played at Buckeye Field in regional finals) ... named first-team All-Ohio as a junior and senior ... Greater Miami Conference Player of the Year as a junior and senior ... threw two perfect games and 13 no-hitters in high school  to go along with 56 wins, a 0.42 ERA and 743 strikeouts in 435 innings.

Personal: Daughter of Bret and Marilyn Bodeker ... has an older brother, Nathan (22) ... would like to be a college softball coach after graduation.
