COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State (1-2) rifle team fell at Kentucky, 4,650 to 4,614 Sunday afternoon. The Buckeyes fell one point short in smallbore rifle to the Wildcats, 2,295 to 2,294. Kentucky won the air rifle event by 35 points, 2,355 to 2,323. OSU's Amanda Furrer finished first in smallbore rifle with a 586. She finished fifth in air rifle at 587. Ethan Settlemires finished first in air rifle at 591.

The Buckeyes return to action, Nov. 14 at the Rose Hulman Institute of Technology.

The Department of Athletics is completely self-supporting and receives no university monies, tax dollars or student fees. In Fiscal Year 2009-10, the Department of Athletics will transfer back to the University more than $29 million in assessments, including $14.5 million in grant-in-aid costs.
