2007 (Junior): Experienced contributor at safety and on special teams ...14 tackles for the season ... forced and recovered an Akron fumble ... Jack Tatum hit of week: Northwestern ... special teams dog tags: Penn State, Illinois ... third-year letterman.

2006 (Sophomore): Took over the starting spot at strong safety in week six at Iowa and stayed in the starting lineup the next seven weeks to close out the season ... played in all 13 games ... hauled in his first collegiate interception in the win over Minnesota ... finished the regular season with 30 tackles, including 14 solo ... had career-high six tackles in the national championship game ... had half a sack in the season-opening win over Northern Illinois ... broke up a pass at Iowa in his first collegiate start.

2005 (Freshman): Ohio State coaches wasted little time deciding not to redshirt him ... played in all 12 games for a total of 29 minutes ... played seven minutes in the season opener against Miami and five minutes against Indiana and Northwestern ... a solo stop at Indiana on kickoff coverage was his first collegiate tackle ... had his first career assisted tackle against Northwestern three weeks later ... also got on the field from time-to-time as the nickel back.

High School: All-Ohio as a junior and again as a senior ... was a Parade All-America as a senior ... had 65 tackles, three interceptions and three sacks as a senior ...started at cornerback in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl ... was Ohio State’s first verbal commitment to its 2005 recruiting class, announcing before his junior season ... also a track and field standout, placing fifth in the state in the 100-meter dash at the 2004 state championships ... played his first two years of high school ball at Mansfield Senior before transferring to Glenville.

The Ohio State University Department of Athletics sponsors 36 fully funded varsity teams – 17 for women, 16 for men and three co-educational. The department is committed to providing its more than 1,000 student-athletes with the finest in academic and athletics support in order to ensure a quality and life-enhancing experience. The Department of Athletics is completely self-supporting and receives no university monies, tax dollars or student fees. In Fiscal Year 2009-10, the Department of Athletics will transfer back to the University more than $29 million in assessments, including $14.5 million in grant-in-aid costs.
