OHIO STATE PLAYER POSTGAME QUOTES

Joe Bauserman, sophomore quarterback
On his performance
"I was tight when I first got in the game. I had been sitting around for two quarters, but I loosened up and I thought we came together well. I was able to get some communication and chemistry with the wide receivers."

On playing two quarters
"It feels good anytime you get out there and get experience. It was nice to go against an actual team instead of the scout team. I gained some confidence today. Hopefully, the coaches are confident in me."

Donnie Evege, sophomore defensive back
On the game
"Every game is big. If we can make a big special teams stop, that helps the whole team. We want to fly down the field fast and relentless. Our goal is to get good field position."

On special teams
"Coach Tressel always tells us great special teams win championships and that's what we want. We know we can all do better. We just want to play consistently and play as a unit."

Austin Spitler, senior linebacker
On the defensive performance
"We were unbelievable today. It just seemed like we were playing sky high. It seems like when we play at a high level it carries over to the offensive side of the ball and boosts their confidence as well."

On playing at Penn State
"The atmosphere is unreal. The fans are crazy and take a lot of pride in their team just like our fans do. It should be fun."

Kurt Coleman, senior safety
On the defensive effort
"The 'D' has been working hard every day to get better, and that's a testament to our coaches. I really like where we're headed."

On the total team performance
"We came out prepared and ready to play, and we kept our energy up for four quarters. This was a good win and good effort for our team."

Andrew Moses, senior center
On what the win today meant
"Austin [Spitler] did such a great job of leading us today. Today was the reason you go through all the 6 a.m.'s, all the long practices and all the hard work week-in and week-out. We played great."

On being the offensive line captain
"It's hard to explain how I felt about being captain [today]. It's something you don't really think about until it's over. It's a tremendous honor to represent this bunch of guys and a dream come true. It's way beyond anything I ever dreamed about and something I'm going to look back on with pride for the rest of my life."

Doug Worthington, senior defensive lineman
On preparing for Penn State
"Penn State has an explosive offense. It's going to be a challenge for the defense and we're going to have to battle it out until the end. There's always things we can work on and things we could do better. We're going to have to be on our game next weekend."

On the challenges Penn State will bring
"We still have a chance of doing something great in the Big Ten. This upcoming game should be an all-around challenge for our special teams, offense and defense. I think we're up for it."

Coach Jim Heacock, Ohio State defensive coordinator
On the defense
"They played really well. We had a lot of three and outs. I thought we played disciplined. Their team is young and it's a new coaching staff and I think they're doing a great job with that group and bringing them along."

On the upcoming game
"It's really important we had a good game this week so we could go into November ready to roll. I thought it was a good start, but it's going to be tough. Penn State has an awfully good offense. Iowa and Michigan are always tough."

Devin Barclay, junior kicker
On kicking in a Big Ten game
"Well the stakes are a little bit higher obviously because they are rivals in the Big Ten. I just have to do what I'm comfortable doing every day. It shouldn't be any different if I just stick to what I know how to do."

On the difference between playing football and soccer
"You don't play in front of over a hundred thousand. It's a little different kicking because you don't get that many opportunities and you have to make the best of it. It's definitely going to be a great experience and I'm ready for it."

NEW MEXICO STATE POSTGAME QUOTES

DeWayne Walker, New Mexico State head coach
On the first quarter
"Teams like Ohio State score a lot of points. Our defense was really hanging in there, but without field goals and touchdowns from the offense, it's difficult to make it interesting. That has been our biggest enemy the past three weeks."

On the onside kick
"It was a surprise, but our special teams coach had been drilling for that all week. But it's a teachable moment. We'll sit down and watch the tape and learn from it. From there we'll lick our wounds this week and look to play Hawaii next weekend."

On Terrelle Pryor
"We knew we had to cage him up. I went ballistic a couple of times when he got out of the pressure, but I guess it's wishful thinking to keep him contained for the entire game. They did exactly what we thought they'd do. It starts and ends with Pryor. We held in as long as we could, but he's a special player."

Ross Conner, senior linebacker
On Terrelle Pryor
"He's just a great athlete. I would say, by far, the best athlete I've played against. As a whole, Ohio State's offense is very solid."

On defending against Ohio State
"I think we did really well to stop the run today, but they've also got a good passing game and that's how our defense got exposed."

On playing in Ohio Stadium
"Ohio State was my dream school coming out of high school so I'm pretty glad I made it to the Horseshoe. I'm very happy we came here."

On the team's first quarter performance
"We were very happy with the first quarter today. Going into the second quarter we thought we could really do this, really hang with them. In the second quarter we gave up some big plays. Ohio State's onside kick-off really threw us off."

Trevor Walls, redshirt-freshman quarterback
On playing Ohio State
"It was a dream come true. I have always been a Buckeye fan. It was enjoyable being around friends and family. There were probably 200 people from my hometown here."

On what can be learned from this game
"Ohio State is a good opponent. They get you ready for upcoming teams. They are big, fast, strong and prepare you for the rest of the season."
