• Ohio State has won 24-consecutive regular-season games. The Buckeyes last lost a regular-season contest at Penn State, 17-10, Oct. 8, 2005. Overall, the Buckeyes have won 25 of their last 26 games.
• The 24-game consecutive regular-season win streak is an Ohio State record. The next longest streak was a 21-game win streak set by the Buckeyes from 1967-69.
• Overall, the Buckeyes are 408-124-14 as a Top 25 team.
• Ohio State has won 17-consecutive Big Ten Conference regular-season games. Ohio State won 17 without a loss three other times from 1954-56, 1967-69 and 1974-76. Ohio State’s last league loss was a 17-10 setback at Penn State Oct. 8, 2005. 
• Jim Tressel’s record with the Buckeyes now is 68-14 and his career record is 203-71-2.
• Ohio State now is 793-301-53 in its 118th season of play.
• Ohio State is 439-187-28 overall in the Big Ten.
• The Buckeyes have scored at least one touchdown in 132-consecutive games.
• Under Tressel, the Buckeyes are now 52-3 when leading at the half (17-0 Saturday) and 55-3 (20-0 Saturday) when ahead after three quarters.
• The Buckeyes are 351-124-28 in the month of October with a 110-62-8 record in October road games.
• The Buckeyes are 30-11 all-time in night games and 24-10 in road night games.
• Ohio State is 120-100-12 all-time when fac¬ing a ranked opponent, and 34-39-7 on the road against ranked teams. Against ranked Big Ten opponents on the road, OSU is 28-33-5. Under Tressel, the Buckeyes are 26-9 overall and 6-4 on the road against ranked teams.

SERIES NOTES
• When Ohio State scores 20 or more points in the Purdue series, the Buckeyes are 26-5.
• The Buckeyes and Boilermakers met for the first time since 2004, when Purdue posted a 24-17 home win. The teams have met 50 times with Ohio State holding a 36-12-2 advantage in the series. Ohio State leads 12-6 in all games played at Purdue.
• Tressel is 4-1 in games vs. the Boilermakers. 
 
OFFENSIVE NOTES
• Sophomore Ray Small caught a 26-yard pass from Todd Boeckman with just over 8 minutes to play in the first quarter to give the Buckeyes a 7-0 lead after a 9-play, 87-yard scoring drive. Small has two scoring grabs this season and three in his career.
• Small finished with a career-high 70 yards on a career-best six catches. 
• Brian Hartline caught a 6-yard pass for a score with 4:48 to play in the opening quarter for a 14-0 Ohio State lead. Hartline has three catches for scores this season and five over his career.
• Hartline’s 41-yard reception in the third quarter was a career long catch. He finished with four catches for 61 yards. 
• Boeckman has found 14 receivers for scores this season for a career total of 15 TD passes.
• In his past 14 quarters, Boeckman is 54-of-83 passing (65 percent) for 749 yards with 10 TDs.

DEFENSIVE NOTES
• Ohio State has now held five of six opponents to seven or fewer points on the season.  
• Anderson Russell sacked Purdue quarterback Curtis Painter twice. He has three this season and four career sacks.
• Larry Grant’s first-half sack of Painter was his third of the season. He has 3.5 sacks as a Buckeye.
• Through five games, the Buckeye defense has forced the opponent to go three-and-out on 42 possessions. Ohio State set a school record with 13 consecutive three-and-out series in the Ak¬ron game. Totals by game: Youngstown State (3); Akron (13); Washington (5); Northwestern (6); Min¬nesota (8); Purdue (7).
• Chimdi Chekwa led the Buckeyes with a career-high 10 tackles. He entered the game with 11 total tackles on the year. 
• Ohio State’s second defensive captain Saturday was Larry Grant.

SPECIAL TEAMS
• Junior Andrew Good saw his first action as a Buckeye handling kickoff duties to start the game. That effort went for a touchback. 
• Punter A.J. Trapasso also made his debut on the kickoff team after Ohio State’s opening score of the game. His effort went for a touchback as well.
• Trapasso later added a 61-yard punt in the third quarter.
• Ryan Pretorius made three field goal attempts Saturday. The first was a 44 yarder, a season-long effort. For his career, Pretorius is 11-of-14, including 10-of-12 in 2007.
• Junior Shaun Lane caused a second-quarter fumble on kickoff coverage after Ohio State made it 17-0 on a Pretorius field goal. Sophomore Aaron Gant recovered the fumble for the Buckeyes. Both efforts were career firsts. 

MISCELLANEOUS
• Ohio State’s honorary captain for the Purdue game was William White, a four-year letterman with the Buckeyes from 1984-87. White earned All-America and All-Big Ten honors as a defensive back before playing 11 years in the National Football League
