OFFENSIVE NOTES
• Brian Robiskie's acrobatic second quarter TD grab of 52 yards in the endzone gave the Buckeyes a 20-7 lead at the half. The play culminated a 98-yard, 4-play scoring drive (57 seconds) for the Buckeyes with 1:16 to play in the second quarter. Chris Wells also had a 27-yard rush followed by a Minnesota late hit penalty during the drive.
• Ohio State's 98 yard scoring drive at the end of the second quarter was the longest scoring drive for the Buckeyes since Troy Smith directed the Buckeyes on a 99-yard drive vs. Michigan Nov. 20, 2004. Smith scored on a 2-yard run to tie the score at 14-all in the second quarter of that game. The Buckeyes also had a 97-yard third quarter drive in that game, a 37-21 Ohio State victory.
• Ray Small's career long rush of 37 yards on a reverse near the end of the first quarter led to Chris Well's second TD of the quarter with 15 seconds to play. Ohio State's second scoring drive took four plays and covered 54 yards in 1:22.
• Aided by a fake punt rush for a first down on the opening drive (12 plays/74 yds./4:12), the Buckeyes scored on a C. Wells 6-yard run with 6:52 to play. Punter A.J. Trapasso bobbled a called fake, gathered the ball and scampered around the right end for a 28-yard gain on fourth-and-six at the OSU 40. Wells scored four plays later.
• The pair of TDs for C. Wells marks the first multi-TD game for the sophomore running back. He has five on the season and 12 for his career.
• C. Wells ended the game with 116 yards on 24 rushes marking his fourth-consecutive and fourth-career 100-yard rushing game. Maurice Clarett is the last to record four-consecutive 100-yard rushing games contests against Indiana (104 yds/21 carries), Northwestern (140/29), San Jose State (132/18) and Wisconsin (133/30) in 2002.
• Todd Boeckman found Robiskie for 5 receptions covering 99 yards. This season, Boeckman and Robiskie have connected on six passes of more than 25 yards, with five going for TDs. Robiskie now has 11 career catches for touchdowns.
• Robiskie has caught a pass in 17-consecutive regular-season games. He finished the game with five catches for 99 yards. Robiskie has two 100-yard receiving games in four outings this season (153 vs. YSU and 107 at Washington). He has topped 80 yards receiving in six of his last seven games.
• Boeckman now has 13 career TD passes, with 12 this season.
• Brian Hartline caught a Boeckman pass for a TD with 8:29 to play in the game. Hartline finished with three catches for 36 yards and a score. He has a pair if TD grabs on the year and four for his career.
• In his past 10 quarters, Boeckman is 37-of-54 passing (69 percent) for 549 yards with eight TDs and one interception.
DEFENSIVE NOTES
• Malcolm Jenkins intercepted an Adam Weber attempt in the first half. Jenkins has two picks this season and six for his career.
• Ohio State's second defensive captain Saturday was Anderson Russell.
• Minnesota native James Laurinaitis finished with 14 tackles, a season high. His career high was set with 15 stops vs. Florida in the national championship game a year ago.
• Larry Grant's fourth quarter sack was his second of the season. He has 2.5 for his career. He also added an interception, his second as a Buckeye.
SPECIAL TEAMS
• A.J. Trapasso's 28-yard rush on a fake punt in the first quarter was his first rush as a Buckeye.
• Ryan Pretorius made his one field goal Saturday, a distance of 43 yards for a season-long. For his career, Pretorius is 8-of-11, including 7-of-9 in 2007.
