OHIO STATE POSTGAME NOTES
• Saturday's game was the first-ever regular season matchup between coaches who total 600+ career wins between them: Joe Paterno (391) and Jim Tressel (225); the meeting between Bobby Bowden (377 at that time) and Frank Beamer (214) last October 25 had only 591 career wins between the coaches.
• Jim Tressel is 24-4 in November games at Ohio State.
• Jim Tressel is 31-10 in road games at Ohio State and 27-8 in Big Ten road games.
• Ohio State is 35-13 against ranked teams under Jim Tressel and 13-6 on the road.
• Ohio State has won 17 of its last 18 Big Ten road games.
• Ohio State is 816-308-53 in its 120th season of play. The win total ranks fifth all-time among FBS schools.
• Ohio State's all-time Big Ten record now stands at 455-190-28 - the best percentage of any Big Ten school.
• Jim Tressel's record with the Buckeyes is 91-21 and his career record is 226-78-2. Tressel's 226 victories rank fourth among active FBS coaches.
• The Buckeyes are 430-131-14 all-time as a Top 25 team.
• Jim Tressel is now 79-6 when leading at the half and 84-6 when leading going into the fourth quarter in his Ohio State career.
• The Buckeyes have won 84 games since the start of the 2002 season, the fourth best among FBS schools during that span.

SERIES NOTES
• Saturday was the 25th meeting all-time between Ohio State and Penn State.
• Ohio State leads the all-time series, 13-12.
• The series is tied, 5-5, in games played in State College.
• Ohio State has won the last two meetings in State College by a combined score of 61-24.

OFFENSIVE NOTES
• Ohio State outgained Penn State 353 to 201 in total offense.
• Terrelle Pryor is 16-3 as Ohio State's starting quarterback (note: Pryor did not start at QB in the 2009 Fiesta Bowl).
• Terrelle Pryor hooked up with DeVier Posey for a 62-yard TD pass in the third quarter -- the ninth pass play of 20 yards or more between the two.
• Posey has 30 catches for 509 yards and six touchdowns in the last six games -- an average of 16.9 yards per catch.
• With 175 yards of total offense, Terrelle Pryor passed Rex Kern (4,158) for 11th place on Ohio State's all-time list with 4,214.
• Terrelle Pryor has accounted for 40 of Ohio State's 63 offensive touchdowns (63.4 percent) since becoming the starter in the fourth game of the 2008 season (27 passing, 12 rushing, 1 receiving).
• The offensive line did not allow a sack for the third time this season. It previously kept the quarterback safe vs. Illinois and New Mexico State.
• Running back Brandon Saine carried the ball a career-high 20 times.

DEFENSIVE NOTES
• Penn State came in averaging 35.2 points per game over the last five games and was limited to a season-low seven by the Buckeyes.
• Ohio State came into the game averaging a nation's best 5.7 three-and-outs per game and recorded eight more today. They have totaled 60 through 10 games.
• Ohio State held quarterback Daryll Clark to a season-low 125 yards passing.
• Ohio State has held opponents to fewer than 21 points 48 times since 2006, the best among FBS teams. Ohio State is 45-3 in those games.
• Ohio State has allowed only seven 100-yard rushers since the start of the 2005 season (62 games). That mark is the best among FBS schools during that span.
• Ohio State has not allowed a 100-yard rusher over its past 20 games, the second-longest streak in the nation. Alabama is first at 27 games.
• Ohio State's defense has allowed just eight touchdowns over its past 35 quarters of play.
• Junior Cameron Heyward recorded a career-high 2.0 sacks and 11 tackles.
• Junior Ross Homan intercepted his third pass of the season and the fourth of his career in the fourth quarter.

SPECIAL TEAMS NOTES
• Junior kicker Devin Barclay kicked his second career field goal in the second quarter, a 37-yarder to give OSU a 10-7 lead.
• Senior punter Jon Thoma kicked a career-long 55-yard punt in the first quarter. He pinned Penn State inside its own 20 three times.
• Senior punt returner Ray Small returned seven punts for a career-high 130 yards, including two that went for 40+ yards to set up Ohio State scores.

MISCELLANEOUS NOTES
• Ohio State's fourth captain was junior wide receiver Dane Sanzenbacher.
• Ohio State's honorary captain was Doug Plank (safety, 1972-74), who is an assistant coach with the New York Jets.
