No. 14 Ohio State Finishes Mercedes-Benz Championship in 15th

Rachel Rohanna finishes 28th to lead Buckeyes; Susana Benavides ties for sixth competing as an individual

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Competing on the par 72, 6,317-yard course at the Fox Den Country Club in Knoxville, Tenn., the Ohio State women's golf team fired a final round of 302 Sunday at the Mercedes-Benz Championship. The 14th-ranked Buckeyes concluded the three-day, 54-hole tournament in 15th with a total score of 921.

Host school Tennessee maintained its spot atop the leaderboard with a 19-stroke lead over the competition and a final score of 868 with three Lady Volunteers in the Top 10. In the individual standings, Laura Anderson of Louisville and Nathalie Mansson of Tennessee tied for first at 213 (-3).

Freshman Rachel Rohanna had a final round of 75 with two birdies. The Waynesburg, Pa., native concluded the tournament in 28th at 226 to lead the Buckeyes.

Totaling 228, junior In Hong Lim finished in a tie for 39th after posting a final round of 77. After making par on eight of her first nine holes, Lim could not maintain her momentum in the afternoon, but still carded two birdies after making the turn.

Sophomore Nara Shin carded a final round of 76 to finish tied for 66th at 234. After a tough go out of the gates, Shin improved in the afternoon with birdies on holes Nos. 4 and 5.

Two strokes back from Shin with a total 236 was sophomore Vicky Villanueva. Carding her lowest round of the tournament with a 77, Villanueva concluded the tournament in a tie for 77th.

Sophomore Allie White finished the tournament with a round of 74. Faced with a scoring error in day two, only White's first and third rounds and she did not place in the individual standings.

Notching a round of 73, freshman Susana Benavides concluded her second collegiate event in a tie for sixth, only one stroke shy of the Top 5. Competing as an individual, the Bolivian fired two birdies and 14 pars en route to her first Top 10 finish.

The Buckeyes will be back in action Oct. 25-26 when they host the All-Ohio Invitational on their own Scarlet Course.
