Junior guard Ben Person meets with the media during Tuesday player interviews.
Ryan Pretorius, junior kicker
On where is he at this point
“I am happy with the way things are for me and the team right now. We need to keep doing what we are doing.”

On his key to kicking
“I leave before the ball hits the holder’s hands and I keep watching the fingers. It is all about routine and repetition in practice.”

Ben Person, junior guard
On the offensive line
“Well with mostly new guys it has been a whole new line. We have made good strides and we are getting better every day.”

On Michigan State
“This is a big challenge. This is the best defensive line we have faced so far. The blitz a lot and we have to be prepared to handle that.”

On Todd Boeckman
“From what I have seen he has always commanded the huddle. He has gotten more comfortable since his first game and he has really grown as a player. He has been our leader since he stepped on the field.”

Donald Washington, sophomore defensive back
On proving himself out of high school
“I didn’t really feel like I needed to prove myself. I thought I did that in high school getting recruited. Coming to Ohio State was proof to myself that I was good enough to compete.”

On stopping Jehuu Caulcrick
“It comes down to fundamentals in practice. You have to make sure you come down and are in good position. I’m not going to say I’m scared. I’ll stand in there and do my best to being him down. If I don’t, I know there are other guys there, too. It’s no different whether the guy weighs 250 pounds or 150. It’s always tough and you need to make sure you use the same technique.

On if it is different tackling power running backs
“It’s always tough trying to tackle someone with a lot of strength. You have to be physical for both types of runners, but it is hard if you have a big guy that’s a downhill runner. It’s going to take more guys to get him (Caulcrick) down, so everything needs to be flying around.”
