COLUMBUS, Ohio – Dean Wolosiansky, who was named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American baseball team by Collegiate Baseball last week, has been chosen a PING! Baseball third-team freshman All-American.
The right-hander from Uniontown, Ohio and Green High School, is the 13th Buckeye to earn freshman All-America honors. His selection also marks the fifth consecutive year in which Ohio State has had a freshman All-American. (Note: a release last week omitted one Ohio State freshman who earned All-America honors and thus the numbers have been adjusted accordingly.)
Wolosiansky led Ohio State with seven wins and a 4.22 ERA in his first season. He was 7-4 overall and 5-2 with a 4.86 ERA in Big Ten Conference games. He also threw all three of the pitching staff’s complete games this season. He was named to the all-Big Ten second team.
An engineering major, Wolosiansky will play baseball this summer for Haymarket of the Valley League.
