At a glance: Comes to Ohio State after playing two seasons of junior college soccer at highly-successful Yavapai College ... helped lead team to combined 46-2-3 record during the last two seasons, including a 22-0-3 record in 2006 ... was the runner-up for the national junior college player of the year honor ... was born and raised in Honduras before moving to the United State at age 12 ... played left back at Yavapai but is versatile and could help the Buckeyes at several spots.

Yavapai College: A NSCAA Junior College All-American ... named the league’s male athlete of the year for 2006-07 (ACCAC) ... started both years for the Roughriders, which went a combined 46-2-3 ... earned all-conference honors and was the region player of the year and NJCAA Playoff MVP.

ODP/Colorado Storm: Played for the Colorado Olympic Development Program and helped lead team to a national ODP championship ... won back-to-back state club titles with the Storm.

Regis Jesuit H.S.: Earned all-state honors ... led team to state semifinals in 2003 and quarterfinals in 2004.

Personal: Son of Anibal Espinoza and Mercedes Ramirez ... born in Puerto Cortes, Honduras, and lived their until he was 12 before moving to Denver ... siblings include Marion (33), Herson (29), Heidy (23), Jazmin (19) and Nicole (8) ... would like to play professionally after graduation ... enjoys watching movies and hanging out with friends ... greatest sports thrill is winning the national ODP title with Colorado.

The Ohio State University Department of Athletics sponsors 36 fully funded varsity teams – 17 for women, 16 for men and three co-educational. The department is committed to providing its more than 1,000 student-athletes with the finest in academic and athletics support in order to ensure a quality and life-enhancing experience. The Department of Athletics is completely self-supporting and receives no university monies, tax dollars or student fees. In Fiscal Year 2009-10, the Department of Athletics will transfer back to the University more than $29 million in assessments, including $14.5 million in grant-in-aid costs.
