ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Ohio State leads Michigan, 14-3, at halftime of the 106th meeting between the two schools. The offensive yards are virtually equal - 166 for Michigan and 164 for Ohio State - but Ohio State has capitalized on a defensive touchdown and an 80-yard drive capped by a 29-yard Brandon Saine touchdown.
Michigan outgained Ohio State, 93-31, in the first quarter but trailed, 7-0, thanks to a turnover on its third play from scrimmage. Quarterback Tate Forcier, facing a third-and-seven from the UM 10, scrambled in the end zone before losing the ball and Cameron Heyward recovered in the end zone for a touchdown. Devin Barclay's extra point made 7-0.
Michigan, finding success in the intermediate passing game, moved into the Ohio State red zone for the second time - the first resulted in a missed field goal in the first quarter - midway through the second quarter. When the drive stalled, Jason Olesnavage kicked a 46-yard field goal to cut the Buckeyes lead to 7-3.
Ohio State marched 80 yards for a score on its next possession to increase the lead to 14-3. Terrelle Pryor gained 34 yards rushing on the drive, including a 25-yarder, and Saine netted 46 rushing yards, including the final 29 around left end for the touchdown.
Tate Forcier has 133 passing yards for the Wolverines with one interception. Pryor has 50 passing yards while Saine leads with 47 rushing yards.
