COLUMBUS, Ohio - Seniors Scott Foreman, Brandon Freeman and Andrew Stimmel have been elected team captains for the 2010 Ohio State men's lacrosse team, Nick Myers announced. The captains were selected by a vote of their teammates. The trio was part of a group of players who stepped forward with an interest in leading the team before practice began and auditioned throughout fall camp.

"I'm very pleased with the men we've elected," Myers said. "We have three seniors - a goalie, a midfielder and a defenseman that give us very good representation.  They are three guys who bleed scarlet and gray and three men who will do a great job leading us this year."

Timonium, Md., native Foreman, is the 2009-10 recipient of the Michael Robert Breschi Memorial Scholarship. He started all 16 games at close defense as a junior in 20019 en route to second-team All-GWLL honors and had a career-high 26 groundballs for second year in a row.

Freeman, from Salem, N.H., was the Defensive MVP last year after taking over the starting job in goal as a junior and earning second team All-GWLL honors. He was 27th in the NCAA in goals-against average (9.0) after starting all 16 games and played every minute but the second half vs. Detroit. Freeman had 10 or more saves in 10 games and ended the year with a .567 save percentage.

Stimmel, from Murrysville, Pa., played in all 16 games a season ago and was named the Buckeye Power Club award winner. He had 20 groundballs and two assists during the season. Stimmel is an Academic All-Big Ten choice and an Ohio State Scholar-Athlete.
